A psychic mentor is no different to any other mentor. They guide us and care about our journey. We develop skills sets and knowledge from them far more than any book could ever offer. I hear psychics talk about their mentors with an incredible amount of respect and fondness. If you are lucky to have a caring mentor who has guided you along your psychic journey you are miles in front.
Finding A Mentor
Don’t take the first cab off the rank. Go to platform shows, do short courses, talk to people, book readings – find that person who has the qualities you admire. And who you aspire to be like. Once you have identified the person become a groupie (but don’t stalk them) – go to their platform shows, read their books – become known to them. Perhaps after a time offer your services – if they are an older person drive them to events or assist with anything related to their psychic business. You’ll know when the time is right to branch out on your own but that friendship will always be there.
A psychic mentor is not a god – they are psychic like you – with their own personal likes and dislikes. But you have chosen that person because there is something you admire about them. And you want what she has.
Becoming A Psychic Mentor
A fledgling psychic might have her training wheels out. She has only ever read for family and friends and is stressing about the next step. She may ask you for guidance – the word mentor may never be mentioned, but that is what you are – her mentor. You might question your own level of knowledge and be fearful of getting close to her – goodness me, she might see the “real you” and discover you are not perfect.
Being a psychic mentor is a golden opportunity for everyone to grow. In time her training wheels will come off but she will remember you for the rest of her life. Be kind and pass it on. In this interview with Medium Maureen Romanowski she explains how to enhance psychic abilities with a teacher.
Another psychic I admire is Barry Eaton. He has a few books and also runs a weekly radio show (with archives). Have a look what Barry says and you’ll be on your way to finding the person right for you.

Your Next Step
You may want to create a business for yourself. And reach your highest potential as a psychic and also as a business person. A most gifted psychic might be hopeless in business – and vice versa. It is important that you understand that a mentor is not the same as a life coach or business coach. You don’t need to follow “everything” about your mentor. In fact, I suggest you tread carefully. Only trust your mentor for your psychic growth.
A Word of Caution
If a psychic get pushy about being your mentor take caution. If a psychic wants money to be your mentor take caution. You need to do the asking.
Don’t get caught up working for free in a shop – you’ll end up having resentments. I know of a “friend” who closed shop and moved to another state. She owed wages, suppliers and also charities she had collected for – thankfully people like that are in the minority. It’s fine to help out as long as you are getting something out of it also. It is a two way street here.
Use your own intuition – if it feels wrong, talk to an older and wiser person privately. Don’t listen to gossip – people know that those who gossip to you will gossip about you. Use your psychic protection.
Having a psychic mentor will help you grow. Good luck in choosing one – and remember to pass on what you receive.
