Contacting spirit guides is not too difficult – once you know. The most important thing is to believe that there is a spirit watching and guiding us. Walk into any art gallery and take a look at the older masterpieces – many of the biblical themes have angels watching over people. Cherubs watching over children and a devil lurking somewhere in the depths. I think this shows that we have long held a belief in invisible entities.
Who is my spirit guide you may ask. Whilst the name of your guide or the name you choose is not absolutely necessary (as the guides are always with us regardless) some people find it does help. An easy way for contacting spirit guides is just to ask them.
Contacting Spirit Guides Through Meditation
Be at peace. You don’t need to hop into the lotus position. Feel the weight of the day fall away. Watch the chatter of voices – don’t feed them with words or reactions. Just watch the voices. Without your input they subside. And a gentle peace will come over you. Now those tricky voices will play games and try and get your attention. Like telling you to fix dinner or not waste time or scratch that leg. Just watch them. Kathleen McDonald’s book “How to Meditate” is an excellent read if you want to take this further.
Contact Through Dreams
Some psychics suggest contacting spirit guides in our sleep. Before you nod off ask your guides a question. You can ask this same question every night and next morning write the information in your dream journal. You may find some patterns.
Contact through a Psychic Medium
In the above interview Clairvoyant and Trance Medium Dianne Parker, she shares her thoughts on how to contact. Mediums are experts at contacting spirit guides – and should be able to give you hints on how to do it yourself. As always check them out first. Ask questions about their ability and their experience. You want a psychic medium and not a psychic – there is a difference. You will find Dianne’s story here.
Our guides may appear as a feeling, a sound, an inkling, an occurrence or even visually. There does not seem to be a set form that they take. We are all different. And each is open to our own interpretation. Seeking the help of a psychic medium may assist if this is all new to you. Especially if you are confused with the messages you get – which voice is the ego, the guide or my memory? Don’t stress – once you start contact spirit guides it becomes part of your life.
A Spirit Says Farewell
After her boyfriend passed my boss in Thailand, Khun Montatip, shared a story about him. During her mourning a butterfly appeared at the bedroom window. It stayed in the room. She felt great comfort with this butterfly and chose to believe it was the spirit of her boyfriend. The butterfly stayed for two days. On the third she told him he was free to go – the time had come to move on. At that, the butterfly flew out the window. I looked at her and felt a great love. I think this was because she had chosen to share this with me. And that I believed every word she said. As well as being the Creative Director of an international advertising agency she was also a university professor. She was a magnet for lovely people (I am sure she still is).
In the above interview Psychic Medium Robert Reeves talks about Angels and Spirit Guides. A very interesting man.
The lovely part is we have full control over this. I am told our spirit guides are pure love – there will never be a bad voice from them. They don’t make decisions on our behalf – we make the changes, they guide us. And that is comforting for any of us who may be going through stuff. The key is to make them part of our lives – not just when the going gets tough.
Are you contacting your spirit guides or still thinking about it?
